The Oscar-winning film includes performances by Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell.

Screening begins at 7.30pm at Port Fairy’s Reardon Theatre.

Walk to school: Students across Warrnambool and district will join in National Walk Safely to School Day. Warrnambool City Council travel smart officer Nicole Wood said children were driving the push to walk to school.

“When you ask children what can be done to make walking or riding to school a more appealing option, they’re always full of great ideas,” she said.

“Feedback from kids is that they love to meet up with friends and walk and there is a sense of achievement when they walk or cycle to school.

“We all want to see our city’s youngsters be as healthy as they can be, and we all have a role in making this a reality.”

Walk for fun: Port Fairy Community House has a walking group happening each Friday morning. The hour-long walk leaves from Sterling Espresso Bar in Bank Street at 9.30am.

One of Australia’s most prolific singer-songwriters returns to Warrnambool, a place he has graced the stages of many times as a solo performer and as a member of rock band Australian Crawl. The show is part of Reyne’s A Crawl To Now acoustic tour.

Fundraiser: Koroit’s version of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea will be held at the Commercial Hotel Koroit from 10am.

The event will include door prizes, raffles and home-backed cooking.

The day will be ran by the Kelly sisters, who have taken on the task from their late mother Josie, who ran the event for many years.
