The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, lost her home and everything in it during the fires and has been living in temporary accommodation while waiting for her new home to be built on Hallowells Road in Cudgee.
The building is in lock-up stage and had several items stored inside, including furniture donated to the victim following the fires.
Warrnambool Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes said thieves broke into the property sometime between 6pm on Monday and 4:55pm on Tuesday.
"The victim has arrived at the house on Tuesday to find a number of items have been stolen, including a silver Hisense brand fridge, a Fisher and Paykel white and blue clothes dryer and several electrical fittings and light globes,” Senior Constable Hughes said. "This is very low form. It is an opportunistic theft on a victim that has already been put through the wringer.”
