That’s the attitude of coach Chris McLaren after the Saints romped to a 58-point thumping of Portland at Hanlon Park on Saturday.
McLaren revealed between “80 and 85 per cent” of Koroit’s play had ticked boxes but said the club were disappointed with “about 15 per cent” of its gameplay.
“We did a lot right,” he said.
“Some aspects of our game cost us and then at half time we had a bit of a chat and worked out where we were going wrong.
“We figured out how Portland were able to get through. They were just uncharacteristic things of us, but to our credit, we were able to bounce back.”
Jarrod Korewha continued his lethal form in front of goal, slotting six majors, while dynamo Tim McIntyre slotted four and accrued “30 plus” disposals as a medium forward. “Timmy Mac was great. He’s in terrific form,” McLaren said.
