The pair are hoping to dance in the UDO World Streetdance Titles in Glasgow in August. Drinks, nibbles, and raffle prizes will begin at 6.15pm.
Theatre: Warrnambool’s Lighthouse Theatre will host ‘Johnny Cash the Concert’ on Friday.
Australian country singer Daniel Thompson, together with backing band Tennessee Express, will present a two-hour tribute to the famed singer.
Art: The Warrnambool Art Gallery’s ‘Once Women won the Vote’ exhibition will open at 6pm on Friday.
Tasty: The magic of country baking will come to the fore at the Woolsthorpe Hall today with the staging of the annual Greatest Sponge Competition.
The day will be ran by the Woolsthorpe CWA and is a fundraiser for South West Healthcare’s campaign to purchase a prostate cancer detector.
The competition will begin at 10.30am with the winner to receive a trophy. Entry to the event is $5, which includes a cuppa, while those wishing to enter the sponge competition can do so for $2.

SATURDAY
Gamers: Lan of the Damned (LANOTD) are hosting a 24-hour multiplayer computer gaming event at Warrnambool’s Brauer College on the weekend. Games will run from 10am Saturday to 10am Sunday with raffles, prizes, tournaments and pizza for players over 13 years.
Trains: Allansford rail enthusiast Eddie White has chartered Steamrail Victoria locomotive R711 to visit Warrnambool on Saturday. The train will travel from Melbourne with passenger pick-up at Geelong before arriving into the city at 1.25pm where it will be circulated for viewing on a turntable.
The day’s activities will also include a barbecue, vintage car display from 1pm and the Warrnambool Model Railway Club in Merri Street open for public from 12 noon to 6pm.
Art: The Darlington Arts and Crafts Group will meet at the Darlington Mechanics Institute Hall from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday.
The creative group hope to foster friendship and enjoyment while making arts and crafts.
Market: The Port Fairy Community House market will be held at Railway Place from 9am to 1pm. The market will feature craft, food and jewelry stalls.

SUNDAY
Mums: Warrnambool’s annual Mother’s Day Classic will be held at Lake Pertobe on Sunday from 8.45am.
The family-friendly event, now in its eleventh year, offers participants a 3km walk and 4km or 7km run from the beach kiosk.
Come dressed in pink.
All proceeds raised go to breast cancer research.
Lego: South West Brick Club are hosting a community event at Camperdown’s St Paul’s Church on Saturday.
The lego-based play group which help to promote social connectivity and build friendships through Lego, will meet from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Music: Warrnambool Symphony Orchestra: With guest soloists for Mothers Day, St Joseph’s Church, 2.30pm. This is the 11th staging of this concert with conductor Angus Christie having put together a program of well known pieces, including operatic marches and arias, concertos, locally composed works and old favourites. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 concession and are available at Collins Booksellers, Dale Cleves Music, or at the door on the day of performance. Afternoon tea will be served after the concert.

Wangoom: Wangoom’s Red Cross group are inviting the community to join them for lunch at the Wangoom Hall on Thursday from 12.30pm to raise funds for people in crisis.
Support: A rainbow flag raising ceremony will be held at the Warrnambool City Council Civic Centre at 5.15pm with lights refreshments at 5.30pm. The ceremony is part of activities for IDAHOBIT Day (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia).
Music: Warrnambool singer-songwriter Cooper Lower is heading off on a tour of the US.
Fellow Warrnambool performer Russ Goodear has organised a Concert for Cooper event at the Cally Hotel, beginning at 8pm.
Joining Goodear and Lower on the bill will be emerging roots performer Flynn Gurry, while a raffle will also be held on the night.
