The Warrnambool resident debuted his new bike at round nine of the Nitro Thunder series at Sydney Dragway on the weekend with the bike running smoothly for almost all of the meet.
“I tested it on Wednesday and we ran personal bests there and went into the rounds on Friday, qualified really well and ran another personal best,” Wooster said.
“Then we went all the way through to the A final, but we couldn't contend it because we burned up a piston.
“It was pretty hard to watch the final knowing we could have been there, but for the bike to go so well and run some of the fastest times was good.”
Wooster said the bike felt good underneath him during his first time riding it.
“It held the horsepower really well,” he said. “We have put a bigger engine in and went up to the 1755cc engine, which is 100cc bigger and ran fast speeds, which was a good sign.”
Wooster will now sit out the Winter Nationals to prepare and fine-tune his new bike for the new season starting in November.
