South Rovers may be one of three undefeated sides left in the Warrnambool and District league, but Lions coach Adam Matheson said his side still had deficiencies in its game.

Matheson identified that the Lions needed to improve their forward entries and positioning around stoppages.
“We have had really poor disposal going into our forward line,” he said. “We were rushing it a bit, instead of having someone deliver the ball into the forward line who has a bit more time, which would give our forwards a bit more opportunity.
“We also have to be clever in our positioning around the stoppages and have intensity around the contest, so if they get first bite of the ball then we want to be close enough to tackle and put pressure on them and don't allow them free reign at the ball.”
The second-year Lions mentor said the midfield would be a critical battle to win if his side was to emerge victorious against a Dennington side looking to kick-start its season.
“We see one of their strengths is their midfield and one of our strengths is our midfield brigade, so it's going to be an interesting contest,” he said.
“The stoppages are going to be critical and their big full-forward has been in good form as well, we’ll be trying to stem the supply of ball into their forward half and we have done a lot of work around stoppages and our forward entries.”
Dennington featured on the winners’ list for the first time last week, defeating Panmure with Justin Wallace, who kicked 10 goals, a threat for South Rovers’ defenders.
