The Warrnambool Racing Club has organised shuttle buses to ferry punters to and from the course all while supporting a worthy cause.
Chief executive officer Peter Downs said the buses would be available to patrons for a gold coin donation.
The cash raised will go to South West Healthcare’s prostate detector appeal.
Mr Downs said it was a “very good cause”.
“One-in-five local men will be affected by prostate cancer by the time they are 85,” he said.
“It will be great for local people to be able to have early detection and access to treatment.
“We thought this was a very worthy cause, especially with the age and demographic of people that come and enjoy the races.”
Mr Downs said last year the club had donated the funds from the shuttle bus service to Brenton Primmer, who is aiming to ride at the 2020 Paralympic games.
“Throughout the carnival we raised $17,000,” he said.
“That was phenomenal. It was great.”
Mr Downs said people could also donate on the South West Healthcare Facebook page.
He said shuttle buses would run from the top of the racecourse and there was three different cityloops.
Buses will also run to Port Fairy.
