The Walsh Road Incident Control Centre established to support the region after the St Patrick’s Day fires was moved from Warrnambool to Cobden on Thursday.
A government spokesman said the Warrnambool Incident Control Centre was available for the management of incidents all-year round. “The current ICC is also the CFA regional administration office,” he said.
The Incident Control Centre moved on Thursday after the Cobrico peat fire was downgraded from a level three to a two.
There are 40 Incident Control Centres across Victoria, with centres in Colac, Geelong, Ballarat, Ararat, Horsham and Heywood.
