Joint event co-ordinator Merryl Hilton said they were pleasantly surprised by the amount raised after originally hoping to raise $20,000 which would purchase 300 tonnes of fodder for farmers through Need For Feed.
“We didn’t ever believe we would get over $50,000,” Ms Hilton said. The final total is yet-to-be confirmed and funds will be donated to Need For Feed and Blaze Aid.
“We want to say a huge big thank you and much appreciation to all our sponsors, both major and minor, and the over 150 people who attended on the night.”
