Koroit’s Pamela Dowling is one of the people behind the scenes of this weekend’s Koroit Irish Festival. She is married to long-term committee member Anthony and is helping to co-ordinate an Irish flash mob with line dancing teacher Jackie Mahoney to involve patrons as part of the festival’s parade.

What do you love about living in Koroit?
I love the village atmosphere of Koroit, the friendliness of the locals and the fact that we have all the services we need here.I especially look forward to pub night at Mickey Bourke’s (hotel),a good meal and a catch up with friends.

What are you most looking forward to about the Koroit Irish Festival?
I am really looking forward to Damien Leith's sing along concert on Friday night, seeing the world-class Irish Dance troup, being a part of the parade and enjoying some Irish fun with my family. We just want everyone to enjoy themselves.
Describe the festival in five words?
A celebration of Koroit's heritage.
What is your favourite concert or festival experience as a patron?
My favourite live show was definitely The Rocky Horror Show – I just loved the music and theatre of it.
What was the first album you purchased? The Beatles.
Who was the first performer you ever saw live? Joe Cocker.
What career did you want to pursue as a teenager? Interior designer.
What do you waste too much time on? Vacuuming.
When and where are you your most happiest?
I am happiest when music is playing and my family are all in the backyard on a summers night enjoying a meal and a laugh.
What's the best advice you've been given?
To appreciate what you have.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
I love our two weeks caravanning in Robe.
Do you have a motto you live by?
I have the Live, Laugh, Love poem on my fridge to remind myself and others to do just that.
Where do you see yourself in 20 years?
Hopefully we'll still be enjoying a Koroit Irish Festival weekend.
