Dennington Community Association member David Kelson said anyone in attendance would have the chance to help plant a lone pine.
“This lone pine is planted in memory of all Dennington and district residents who have enlisted in the Australian Armed Forces and have been involved in the conflicts of all wars to defend out country or the countries of the British Isles or assist our allies in their time of combat,” Mr Kelson said.
He said the planting was made possible thanks to Fonterra, which gave up part of a car park for the lone pine, and Warrnambool City Council.
The group also hopes to extend its memorial to include the names of all Dennington residents who have served over the years.
Dennington’s free Anzac Day breakfast will be held from 7.30am to 8.45am and will be followed by a march to the Cenotaph.
