Panmure found that out the hard way on Saturday, with Dennington’s Justin Wallace bagging 10 goals to condemn the Bulldogs to a 40-point defeat.
Just four points separated the sides at the main break, but Wallace lifted in the third and fourth to put the Bulldogs to the sword.
Dennington mentor Jake Rhodes said Wallace, a ruck-forward hybrid, was simply unstoppable.
“He kicked goals from absolutely everywhere. There were some from outside 50, there were some from marks taken very deep,” he said.
“I think when he first came to the club a few years ago he was a forward, but (then coach Darcy Lewis) knew he’d have to play a bit of ruck.
“We’ve had Matt Hausler come in this year and he can ruck for most of the day. That allows Justin to stay forward.
“(Justin) is such a big presence down there for us and he has such a good leap on him.”
