“We have been focusing on slowing down the ball when we are bringing it down the court,” Jamieson told The Standard ahead of the match against the reigning premier.
“I noticed that when we got an intercept in round one that we got a bit excited with the ball and we just needed to slow it down and stay calm when we have the ball.
“It also came back to how well we started playing against Rovers and we thought we could keep going at that pace when we needed to just play our own game and because our ball movement was so hot we were just getting tired as the game wore on.”
Jamieson, who will not play this week, said her young side had started well before last week’s bye.
“I thought they played really well against South Rovers in round one, considering we didn't have a chance to play together as we had no practice matches,” she said.
“I think we can step up and push Dennington if we bring our best game.”
The Bulldogs come up against a Dennington side looking to bounce back after last Saturday’s loss to Nirranda and a fit and firing shooter in Jessica Haberfield, who has scored 47 goals so far this season.
Jamieson said that Rachael Eldridge would be lining up on Haberfield, with plans in place to disrupt the game of the star Dogs’ shooter.
