The WDDRA is offering both current members and drivers who wish to give the sport a go to come down to Warrnambool Airport between 10am and 4pm on Saturday for a friendly and non-competitive event, which includes categories such as drag racing, power skidding and burnouts for all to get involved in.
Association president Paul Cleaver said the idea for the day was centered around encouraging people into the sport.
“It’s aimed at getting new people off illegal street racing and onto the track,” he said.
“They can bring their friends and race them in a legal environment and it gives them a legal outing to do what they like. This gets them off the street and possibly into the sport, that’s the reason behind the decision to run this event.”
The day also offers current drivers in the sport to test out their vehicles in a non-competitive environment.
