The man was watching the Monday night TattsLotto draw and paused his television to check his numbers. 

He held one of the draw’s two division one winning entries nationally, one each from Victoria and New South Wales, which each took home a division one prize of $1 million.

When speaking with a Tatts official to confirm his win, he revealed he already knew he had won.

“I haven’t slept a wink! I’ve been waiting for this call!” he said.

“Wahoo! It’s so exciting. I still can’t believe it. Oh my goodness.

“I was watching TV last night when the numbers came up so I hit the pause button and then checked them. I still can’t believe it.”

When asked how he planned to spend his windfall, the man said he would buy a house and retire.

“I was only talking about it last night on the phone. It’s just so unreal you know?

“I’ve been planning what I would be doing with my win for a long time.”

The regular player revealed that he had been using the same numbers for close to two decades.

“I’ve been running those numbers, playing the same numbers every week, for 15 or 20 years.

“I remember picking them out of a hat years and years ago and I’ve just kept playing them.

“I almost gave up on them a few times but decided to keep playing them and it’s just unbelievable,”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 12-game marked entry from Colac Lotto, 146 Murray Street, Colac.

Ros Monaghan, owner of Colac Lotto, said they were thrilled to have sold another division one entry.

“This is unreal, I am really in shock about it,” she said.

“It is so random, we went nearly four years with none, and now it’s been five division one wins in 13 months.

“We definitely have to celebrate by cracking another bottle of champagne!”

The six winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3756 on Monday April 16 were 11, 35, 37, 15, 10 and 40, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 20.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3756 – one each in Victoria and New South Wales.
