The Warrnambool export drained nine points, reeled in five rebounds and had six assists in the Boomers’ 103-46 rout of Scotland in Saturday morning’s semi-final on the Gold Coast.
Sobey, who plays for NBL club Adelaide 36ers, managed 18 minutes’ court time.
All 12 Australians hit the scoresheet with Perth Wildcats championship winner Jesse Wagstaff top-scoring with 17 points.
The Boomers will play the winner of the New Zealand-Canada semi-final, which is currently underway, at 11.30am tomorrow – the final day of competition.
