The Lions second-year coach said his side had focused on its defensive strategy across the ground at training this week.
“We have been working on our defensive game to make sure they don’t get easy ball use into their big key forwards,” he said.
“From all accounts they were a good pressure team around the ball carrier last week, so we also have been focusing on making sure we use the footy well and not rushing the ball forward.
“They have obviously recruited really well in the off season and have a different couch and from round one they have certainly started really well against one of the grand finalists from last year in Old Collegians and we have set ourselves pretty keenly for this match.”
The Lions come into the match against an improved Allansford outfit, which pushed the Warriors for three quarters, off a 73-point victory against Panmure.
