Circus: The Big Tops and Tiny Tots Circus Show will be in Camperdown from 10am till 12 noon at the Theatre Royal. The circus adventure is perfect for children aged three to six.
Theatre: A funny, fake-bloody tale of greed and power will be told through MacDeth. The perfomance will be held at Camperdown’s Theatre Royal at 2pm and is ideally suited for children aged eight and over.
SATURDAY:
Spectacle: Some 10,000 people are expected to flock to Reid Oval for the Nitro Circus. Tickets to the show are still available online and will also be for sale on Saturday at the gate. It kicks off at 3pm, with gates open from 12.30pm.
Hampden: Two of the premierships contenders, Port Fairy and Cobden, will go head-to-head in a Hampden league season-opener at Gardens Oval on Saturday. Bounce down is at 2pm.
WDFNL: Reigning premier Kolora-Noorat welcomes finals aspirant Timboon Demons for a Warrnambool and District league round two showdown at Noorat. The match will start at 2.20pm.
Exercise: The Timboon parkrun will be held from 7.50am till 9am. People wanting to walk, jog or run together are encouraged to attend, irrespective of their ability. Meet near the skate park at the corner of Bailey Street and Snake Track Road, Timboon.
Emergencies: The region’s first Emergency Services Capability Forum will be held at Lake Pertobe on Saturday. The forum is a chance to ask questions about preparing for a fire and also see the equipment on display. The forum will be from 12noon till 3pm and is free.
SUNDAY:
Races: The Terang and District Racing Club will host a free bushfire relief event for all CFA and SES volunteers, their families and the 60 families affected by the fires. This includes free transport, entry and free food and drink on the day. Gates open at 11am, for more information contact the club on 0400 557 625.
Garvoc Express: Support Virginia Moloney as she runs for gold in the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. Warrnambool Athletics Club will host the event at the Emmanuel Centre at Emmanuel College starting at 7am with the marathon broadcast live at 7.20am. A junior two-kilometre run at 8.30am and an open six-kilometre time-trial will be held after the broadcast.
Shopping: The Fresh Market will be held at Lake Pertobe from 8.30am till 1pm. The market is next to the mini golf and shoppers can pick up a coffee along with fresh bread and other produce.
Trains: The Cobden Miniature Railway will open from 11am till 4pm. Rides last about 10 minutes.
