This will be the pair’s first time swimming at a national level carnival. Christie-Crane qualified in the under 17/18 50-metre freestyle, 100-metre freestyle and the 100-metre backstroke, while Johnston qualified in the under 13 100 and 200-metre backstroke.
WSC coach Jayson Lamb said the two young swimmers would relish the opportunity to compete at a higher level.
“It will be a really good experience for them both,” he said. “They have been great this season and it’s a good achievement to be some of the top swimmers in Australia.”
The championships also act as the selection event for the Junior Pan Pacific Championships and the Oceania Championships.
