Warrnambool City Council and the Dennington Football Netball Club are working together to co-ordinate the project, which includes new home football change rooms, redeveloped football change rooms and umpire change rooms and upgrading power, water and sewer services.
Warrnambool mayor Robert Anderson said the upgrades would be a “great improvement”.
“Dennington is a fast-growing residential area, so it is important that council supports the renewal and redevelopment of the facilities at the Dennington Recreation Reserve,” he said.
Construction work is expected to be completed this year
Funding from the project has come from a range of sources including:
- Warrnambool City Council $374,500
- Victorian government $90,000
- Club contributions $100,000
- Philanthropic trusts $45,000
