Mayor Jo Beard appeared in the first video which was launched on Friday.

In the video she said the council’s first and foremost concern was the safety of residents and tourists on the roads.

She said 80 per cent of roads that fell under VicRoads jurisdiction in the Corangamite Shire were in poor or distressed condition.

“My message has always been ‘I don’t care who is in government it is their responsibility to take care of their roads,” she said.

A video will be launched each Friday for seven weeks via the council’s Facebook page.
