The year 8 student from Noorat was inspired to participate in The World’s Greatest Shave after a school mate took up the challenge last year.
Oscar said his great-grandfather Bernie Milroy died of leukemia in 2008.
His mother, Brooke Coolahan, said she was very proud of her son’s efforts.
“He’s had lots of support,” she said. “So far he’s raised between $800 and $900. I’ve very proud. It’s a big ask and he’s really thought outside the square.
“His great-grandfather did a lot for the community and that’s been passed on the line.
“I know I’ll be shocked, I haven’t seen him bald since he was a baby.”
The head shave will be done on March 28 at the Noorat campus.
The school will also host a Crazy Hair Day with all proceeds going towards World’s Greatest Shave. To donate visit https://worldsgreatestshave.com/ and sponsor Oscar.
