Thousands of athletes will vie for titles in Warrnambool across the March long weekend.
Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club will host its three-day open.
The Sprintcar Racing Association of Victoria Series will run its grand final at Allansford’s Premier Speedway on Sunday night.
The state junior surf lifesaving championships will take over Warrnambool beach on Saturday and Sunday.
Mortlake will host three days of Western District Showjumping Championships and South West Pirates will welcome teams for three days of volleyball competition at Warrnambool Stadium.
Warrnambool tennis open tournament director Don Higgins is ready for a busy weekend.
The Lake Pertobe complex will host 770 and 1070 matches
“We are starting to find our juniors are growing in numbers and it is the same with D and C grades as well,” he said.
“The social side of tennis people like and that’s what makes it so attractive a tournament.”
Bushfield teenager Harry Boyd is the number four seed in the men’s section and fellow south-west competitor James Norton is also entered in the open grade.
South Yarra visitor Andrew McLean is the number one seed.
There are no south-west hopes in the open women’s section with traveller Nicole Mullen named the number one seed.
