That’s the picture Moyne Shire mayor Mick Wolfe painted as he described the future fish and chip business looking to set up shop in Port Fairy’s revamped Wharf building.
A business, Apollo RW Pty Ltd, has been named as the preferred applicant to lease part of the Wharf, however, a final decision will not be made until after April due to administrative requirements.
Mr Wolfe said the “beautiful building” would revive Port Fairy’s reputation as a place people could come for fish and chips by the wharf.
The Wharf was rebuilt after the original 1950s building was demolished. The development will feature a fish and chip shop at the northern end and a restaurant to the south, with a combined total of 230 seats including 56 on outside deckings.
