A 22-YEAR-OLD Hamilton man has been arrested and charged with a almost 20 offences relating to breaking into cars.

Detective Sergeant Mark James, of the Hamilton police crime investigation unit, said the man was arrested overnight Tuesday, interviewed, charged and bailed.
He will appear in the Hamilton Magistrates Court on May 16 charged with 12 thefts from vehicles and six attempted thefts committed between December and earllier this week.
The man is now on strict bail conditions including an overnight curfew.
Detective Sergeant James said that during an interview the man admitted going out at night and regularly offending.
He said witnesses, forensic evidence and security camera footage tied the man to the offending and led to the accused man being identified.
"He's made admissions and is now on strict bail conditions. It's a very pleasing result after exhaustive police work," he said.
