Wednesday 7.30am:
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for the south-west.
There have also been several reports of fallen trees in the district.
Damaging winds averaging 50 to 60km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100km/h are expected to develop over western Victoria.
Damaging winds are more likely to affect elevated and coastal areas.
Winds are expected to rapidly ease over the west in the early afternoon and ease on Wednesday night.
The State Emergency Service has reminded people to
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony
- Keep clear of fallen power lines.
Damaging winds with peak gusts up to 90 to 100 km/h are set to cross the state tomorrow, with the south-west due to experience the change during the morning.
Strengthening northerly winds are expected ahead of a gusty westerly change.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for a strong cold front with damaging winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h.
The winds accompanying the front are likely to affect elevated and coastal areas, and damaging gusts are also likely with coastal thunderstorms or coastal showers.
Winds are expected to rapidly ease over the western part of the state in the early afternoon then ease throughout Wednesday night.
An update is expected about 5pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony
- Keep clear of fallen power lines
