Alexander Kavanagh, 24, of Hyland Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to driving while suspended, driving a vehicle which was too powerful, driving an unregistered vehicle and drink driving.
He was fined and banned from driving for 32 months.
At 4am on September 24 police were in Raglan Parade near the intersection with Caramut Road.
They saw a vehicle approach from behind, that stopped behind the police and when waved around turned right into Caramut Road.
A check of the vehicle found the vehicle was unregistered and the driver was suspended.
His licence was suspended for three months due to demerit points at the end of June.
The vehicle was a V8 Holden from which P-plater Kavangh was banned from driving and it was unregistered.
Kavanagh blew an alcohol reading of .164, said he thought he had his licence back and had consumed about 10 stubbies.
He has previous offences for drug impaired driving and driving while suspended.
Magistrate Cynthia Toose said the problem was that Kavanagh just kept offending.
She said Kavanagh was getting very close to be imprisoned.
