This will be the ninth time the event has been held and organising committee member Shirl McCosker is confident it will be the best yet.
Last year we had 160 trucks and we think we will get close to 200 this year, Mr McCosker said.
Interest is certainly up this year. We have had a lot of people asking about it and wanting to bring their trucks.
Its a great event for Koroit. It brings a heap of people in. Last year, businesses in the town boomed on the day.
As far as a family day out goes, this is a ripper. Adults are $10 and an all-day wristband for the kids rides is just $20, so it is very affordable.
Mr McCosker said trucks will come from as far away as Queensland and Western Australia. He said there will also be a large selection of motorbikes and cars on display.
A highlight of the day will be a performance from a Melbourne-based FMX freestyle motorcross team. While last years team rode two-wheeler bikes, this years show will feature four-wheelers.
Mr McCosker said the bikes will leap into the sky and land on specially made blow-up ramps.
The day will also include the crowd favourite truckie sprint and the Harley burn-out competition.
We will have a proper tug-o-war machine set up with teams of five on each end, Mr McCosker said. Therell be $250 prizemoney up for grabs so that will be popular and a bit of fun to watch.
Celebrity truck driver Glenn Yogi Kendall will be a drawcard for the event.
Mr McCosker said the television identity is excited about his trip to Koroit.
He was here last year and had a ball, he didnt have his truck last year but this time he is driving it over from Western Australia and it will be on show, Mr McCosker said.
Mr McCosker said part of the proceeds from the truck show will go to the Royal Childrens Hospital. The truck show committee has been selling tickets for a new car in the lead-in to the event.
The tickets have sold well. Its great we can do our bit to help the Royal Childrens Hospital, he said.
