Warrnambool Offshore and Light Game Fishing Club vice-president Peter Goode said the event, which was usually run in March, was brought forward to January to allow more children to participate.
He said there were about 580 entries – 156 of them children aged up to 15 - making it one of their biggest events. The week-long competition ended on Saturday with final weigh-ins, and on Sunday presentations were made to prizewinners and the raffle was drawn.
Terang’s Troy Anderson won the raffle’s major prize – a new boat.
