“The reason why my family and I keep coming back is because it's a family-friendly event and it's such a beautiful place to start and finish the race,” the 1994 Commonwealth Games gold medallist said.
“We could go to similar running events this summer, but we like the Surf ‘T’ Surf and that is why we come back.
“I can see why families want to get involved as there is always a good feeling at the start and finish of the race and throughout the day.
It's a great way to do something with the family and work off some Christmas cheer.

“It’s a great way to do something with the family and work off some Christmas cheer.”
Moneghetti noted that there is still a serious side to the event but it doesn't overwhelm the causal runner.
“It’s not overkill, it's just a really chill and not too formal event,” he said.
“It's that feel to the event that keeps bringing me and so many other people back.
“It is still a pretty challenging course for a fun run and there is no reason why it should be such a challenging course, but people love it and they keep coming back for it.”
