Friday:
Screendance: Warrnambool artist Kim Sargent-Wishart launches Currency at the Warrnambool Art Gallery from Friday to Sunday. The four-and-a-half minute screening explores the perceptions of female aging combined with the fluency of movement. Featuring six local dancers and collaborators and set to an original score the featured exhibition is a unique, mesmorising experience. Kim will follow with an artist floortalk on Saturday 1-2pm and workshops on Sunday from 11am to 12 noon.
Girls: The Broads are back in another all-female exhibition at Outlaw Gallery. Broader will launch Friday at 6pm and run through to November 26.
Proud: Proudspoken Loud & Proud will combine Warrnambool’s spoken word event with voices from the LGBTI community on Friday. Speakers will share all forms of stories in an open-mic format at the Warrnambool Art Gallery from 8pm to 10pm.
Music: In the Spotlight will showcase up and coming bands and musicians at the Loft in Warrnambool from 8pm.
Saturday:
Book launch: Author, film reviewer, musician and former journalist Matt Neale will officially launch his first novel Bay of Martyrs at Port Fairy’s Blarney Books and Art between 3 and 4pm.
Market: The Christmas Market at Woodford will feature the works of several local artists and designers offering Christmas present ideas and served up with hot food, live music, children’s entertainment and displays from 10am to 2pm.
Rainbow: Yummy! present The Rainbow Salon at the Warrnambool Art Gallery from 6pm to 11pm on Saturday. The drag cabaret show features Valerie Hex (James Welsby) and a cast of special guests.
Sunday:
Last chance: Gareth Colliton’s curation A Long Time Ago will finish on Sunday. The collaborative exhibition which blurs the lines between history, mythology and religion through Star Wars reference is on at F-Project Gallery.
Garden: The Warrnambool Community Garden is hosting an Open Day from 11am to 4pm and will include workshops, a Rough Diamond coffee van, live music and face-painting.
Students: South west TAFE students will showcase their works at the Warrnambool Art Gallery that begins with a launch on Sunday from 1pm to 3pm.
Music: Daniel Barling will perform at the Dart and Marlin on Sunday from 4.30pm.
