That’s the assessment from first-year leader Angus Uwland who is sharing the Bombers’ duties with Jono Benallack.
The pair will lead the Bombers in their first South West Cricket one-day match on Saturday after splitting their six twenty20 fixtures.
Uwland, 22, and Benallack, 20, are grateful to be working together in the role.
Cobden footballer Uwland said the co-captaincy could also help him in his other sporting pursuits.
“We wouldn’t have done it as single captains so we’re both doing it together which makes it easier,” he said.
“It’s about building leadership. You learn to talk to different groups of people about different stuff.
“Hopefully it will transfer between both sports.”
Uwland said he enjoyed playing cricket as it “fills in my Saturdays”.
“I get bored sitting at home,” he said.
“It’s a good change up from footy.
“It’s a different group of people to hang around with, and a different intensity.
“It’s a bit more relaxed than Hampden league."
Uwland believes Benallack is an ideal skipper.
The former Cobden footballer, who moved to Apollo Bay for work and is travelling home for cricket, is considered sharp in the field and handy with the bat.
“His knowledge of the game is up there with a 30-year-old,” Uwland said.
Cobden will play Pomborneit on Saturday.
Uwland believes it can match the Mick Townsend-led side as it will have the bulk of its list available.
“Our youth is driving us and our fielding is going to be our number-one priority,” he said.
“It’s important that we bat out our overs.”
