The town’s fire brigade was joined by members of the community to rattle tins for the annual Good Friday Appeal.
In three hours knocking on doors around Koroit and district, a total of $4265 was raised, an increase of $750 from the previous year.
Koroit CFA first lieutenant Phil McCosh said at the time it was a great effort from the town.
“It’s a great cause and some of the members have had children in the kid’s hospital and it brings it home how important it us,” Mr McCosh said.
“The townspeople have got to be congratulated for supporting such a great cause.
“Most people were expecting us and waiting for us to come to their street.”
Other Good Friday Appeal totals around the district for 2007 included the townships of Port Fairy ($9300) and Macarthur ($5540).
