Victorian Senior of the Year nominees Lorraine Blake-Hoey, Gerry Billings, Norma Bull and Ian Bodycoat will be presented at a ceremony at the Warrnambool Art Gallery at 2.30pm.
Finalists chosen to go onto the next stage will attend a ceremony at Government House on Tuesday.
The foursome were also nominated for the 2016 Warrnambool Senior of the Year.
Australian of the Year Awards winner Vicki Jellie will discuss the important role seniors play in the community and encourage people to stay active as they age.
The event is part of the annual Celebrage festival which provides older residents with opportunities to try new things and meet new friends in Warrnambool.
Archie Graham Community Centre Coordinator Ken Radley said that the popularity of the event is increasing year on year.
“Celebrage has been running for a few years now and is becoming very well attended,” Mr Radley said.
“This is great, as it shows that older people in Warrnambool are interested in opportunities to get out and about and enjoy themselves.
“Retirement is when you should spend more time doing the things you enjoy. Or if there is something you’ve always wanted to start doing, now is a great time.
“While the program is designed for seniors, two ‘seniors’ in Warrnambool can have a 40 year age gap, so we make sure we offer a diverse range of events to cater for different interests and mobility levels.
“Whether you want to enjoy the music of legends like Athol Guy of the Seekers, have a hit of tennis, go on a street-art walk or just have a cuppa and cake in a friendly environment, you will have something to enjoy at Celebrage.”
Mr Radley said some events had already sold out and encouraged people wishing to attend to book early.
As part of the state-wide festival, Victorian Seniors Card holders are entitled to free travel on Victorian public transport between October 8 and October 15.
