The first-year reserves coach lauded the Eagles’ willingness to play for each other following their 49-point grand final triumph over South Warrnambool on Saturday.
“The best thing about this group is that they’re all mates,” he said.
“They all work for each other and there’s only probably nine guys playing from last year, but a few of them missed out then and a few have come back from seniors so we’ve got a good mix.
“It’s a mix of the old and the young but they get along well and look after each other really, really well and that’s important.”
The triumph was North Warrnambool Eagles’ second consecutive reserves premiership after they defeated Terang Mortlake at Reid Oval last season.
