The 26-year-old man, who cannot be named as that would identify the victim, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool County Court this week to 18 charges including eight of incest and one of attempted incest, as well as counts of indecent assaults and producing pornography.
He was jailed for 10 years with a minimum seven-and a half years to be served before being eligible for parole.
Crown prosecutor David O'Doherty said the man travelled to the south-west late last year in a visit arranged by his ex-partner to spend time with the girl.
Within two hours of arriving he was assaulting the victim and made the first of six recordings on his mobile phone of his offending.
In total there were 11 recordings.
The offending came to light when the man took his computer to be repaired in late January this year.
During the examination a computer technician discovered a child pornographic image, the store owner/manager was informed and police contacted.
Interstate police found the 11 recordings and contacted the Warrnambool police sex offences and child abuse investigation team.
The man was arrested and made full admissions to his offending.
