Warrnambool police Sergeant James van Engelen said an alarm sounded at the Jamieson Street school at 3.20am Friday, prompting attendance by a security guard.
The guard told police officers he saw two young people leaving the vicinity of the school and heading north.
Officers found two people in Canterbury Road and they were in possession of a computer tablet valued at about $1000.
The 20-year-old woman and 19-year-old man were arrested, interviewed, charged with burglary and theft and released on bail to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on October 23.
Sergeant van Engelen said it was an excellent result to apprehend the offenders by both the security guard and police officers involved.
