Last Thursday and Friday, a cast and crew of 16 students living on residence at Deakin performed their live stage show version of The Little Mermaid.
More than 200 people witnessed the production which was directed by cast member Olivia Fall. Cast and crew came from the marine, law, nursing, arts and commerce faculties at the campus.
Joining Ms Fall in the cast were Alannah Williams, Thea, Lillian Cummins, Emma Morrissey, Ally Clark, Josh Donovan, Mark Byron, Emilee McGivern, Brooke Southwell, Ashlea Burt, Katelyn Coon, Emily Russell and Megan Rabie.
Ms Fall said the production was a major success.
“Half the cast had never acted or sung before,” Ms Fall said. “We didn’t have to coerce anyone into being part of it, everyone was really keen.
“We were blown away by how many people came along and the response we got from the audience.
“We have already started talking about what show we are going to do next year.”
