The hidden stories of some of the city’s founders, who feature on a historic board in Warrnambool, will be revealed at a launch on Sunday.

Familiar local names such as Manifold, Crammond, Dickson, Swinton, Curdie, Bostock, Carmichael, Hider, Granter and Napthine take pride of place on the honour board.
Warrnambool and District Historical Society president Janet MacDonald said the board featured images of 204 men and the year they arrived in the region.
The historical society and family history groups will launch a board restoration and publication project at the Mozart Hall on Sunday at 2.30pm.
She said local residents were invited to adopt a pioneer by way of a donation to help fund its restoration, and a companion book about their contributions was planned. The launch will include details about the early settlers’, who lived in the city prior to 1860, interesting and unusual achievements and insight into Lilian Foyle, the artist and photographer, who created the board.
