Scores were tied at the end of the first and fourth quarters, forcing the teams into extra time in the Warrnambool and District league grand final.
After two five-minute nail-biting extra periods were played, the Dogs were too strong and showed why they have won the last two back-to-back premierships.
Reigning premier coach Krystal Day said after the Power inched closer to victory in the second and third quarters she was forced to better utilise her top players.
“The switch came when Kelsey Perry was moved to centre,” she said.
“She just opened up the game. She’s an outstanding A grade player. She dug deep and showed that she has what it takes.”
“Sue Fleming is also such a leader.
“She came on and gave direction where it was needed.”
Versatile player Kelsey Perry played in goal keeper, goal defence and centre.
She was awarded best on court and thanked her coach for her career comeback.
“I took two years off and this is my first year back,” she said.
“Krystal really helped me believe in myself again and it’s thanks to her for bringing me back.”
Saturday’s win gave Dennington its third A reserve premiership in a row.
