The Banyan Street pizzeria is joining MacKillop Family Services in promoting its annual awareness campaign.
For one week all takeaway pizzas sold at Mr Brightside will come with a reminder to help vulnerable south-west children.
Mr Brightside owner Jarrod McSween said more than 500 boxes would feature the special sticker seeking carers.
“I’ve got a couple of kids myself,” Mr McSween said. “It’s sad to think there’s 100 kids out there without a home. It’s not their fault they’re in the situation they’re in – you never really see that side of Warrnambool.”
MacKillop’s carer recruitment and development officer Tania Ferris said foster carers were urgently needed in Warrnambool, where the number of children requiring care had significantly increased.
“The most important thing is providing children with a stable, loving home where they can feel safe and protected,” she said. “ We hope everyone who shares a pizza will think about sharing their home.”
