DemoDAIRY chairman Ian Teese said more than 90 per cent of shareholders supported the proposal to sell the dairy farm.
The cooperative’s board decided two years ago to close DemoDAIRY’S dairy because its demonstration activities had been mostly replaced by focus farms and it struggled financially in recent years.
The cooperative plans to use the funds raised from the sale to support dairy industry training, extension and promotion across western Victoria, in line with the original DemoDAIRY concept.
The farm is currently being used to agist dairy heifers.
