TERANG Mortlake coach Michael Sargeant says Hampden league flag favourite Koroit’s work rate is its number one asset.
The Bloods mentor had a close view of the Saints’ dedication on Saturday when they ran over his side 13.8 (86) to 5.3 (34) at Victoria Park.
The result all but assured Koroit a top-place finish with one round to play. The Saints are now a game and percentage clear of Port Fairy following its shock loss to Cobden.
“Their work rate is the standard we have to get to,” Sargeant said.
“It’s through the roof. I wouldn’t like to get them on Reid Oval which is nice and big.”
Saints coach Chris McLaren said their destiny was now “in our own hands”.
He was pleased with veteran Ben Goodall’s four-goal haul against the Bloods.
“He kicked six a couple of weeks ago and was best-on against Cobden and kicked four yesterday to be high in our best,” McLaren said.
