Portland boy arrested and charged over car theft

A 12-year-old Portland boy has been arrested and charged with stealing a car.

Police said a silver Peugeot was stolen from a Percy Street address on Sunday,  July 2, and dumped at the Mac's Hotel in Bentinck Street.

The vehicle was seen by police and the driver managed to evade officers before dumping the car at the rear of the hotel.

Three males - aged 18, 16 and 12 years old - have now been charged with theft of the Peugeot and released on bail. 

The 18-year-old was also charged with driving offences.
