A MELBOURNE man wanted for six months has handed himself in to Portland police after attending his brother’s funeral.

Frank Thomas, 32 of Thornbury, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court, unsuccessfully applied for bail and was remanded in custody until July 31 when he will appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court.
Portland police charged Mr Thomas with the new offences of breach bail conditions and breaching an intervention order.
He has been wanted on three warrants of apprehension for about six months by the Preston police family violence unit.
Mr Thomas surrendered himself to police in Portland at 11.30am on Monday after attending his brother's funeral.
