The week-long dance section of the eisteddfod wrapped up on Saturday and dance co-ordinator Elizabeth Field said the 890 entries were well up on 2016.
“We only had around 800 entries last year,” she said.
Dancers performed in a variety of styles including contemporary, classical, lyrical, Broadway jazz and tap.
“We start off with six year olds on the Monday and we go through right through to open, which can be any age,” Ms Field said.
“People come from all over, this year we’ve got Blackburn in Melbourne, Geelong, Horsham, Mount Gambier.”
In the future, the event is looking to build up its all abilities section, with one dancer taking part this year.
More volunteers are welcome to help out at next year’s event. Ms Field urged people interested to make contact through the eisteddfod’s website: www.warrnambooleisteddfod.org.au
