Elite gardener Justin Buckley will present at the meeting on Wednesday, July 19. FWBG president Pat Varley said they were honoured to have Mr Buckley speaking at the meeting and visiting the gardens.
“Justin is the manager of horticulture for the National Trust and over many years has acquired specialised knowledge in gardens of the Victorian era,” she said. “Justin has been involved in many National Trust gardens, one being Rippon Lea.”
Gardens curator John Sheely will also talk about the work that has happened in the gardens over the past year, as well as about the 150th anniversary celebrations. The meeting is open to the public. It is being held at the Hammond Centre on Henna Street from noon. Email friendswbg@gmail.com to RSVP.
