EAST Warrnambool has lodged an appeal with the AFL Western District commission after it was handed a $250 fine and stripped of premiership points in the under 17.5 competition for playing an ineligible player. The Bombers self-reported after fielding an overage player in the junior grade for five games – they won one match during that period – and were fined $50 per game and stripped of the four points. The appeal will be heard at the commission’s meeting on July 11.
