Mick Townsend has signed on with the South West Cricket outfit for the 2017-18 season.
He joins the Bulls after stints with Warrnambool and District Cricket Association sides East Warrnambool-YCW, West Warrnambool and Merrivale.
Townsend, 30, held captain-coach roles at East and West.
A link with Pomborneit via brother-in-law Daniel Misfud and an opportunity to test out a different were catalysts for his decision.
He is hoping to impart his experience on the Bulls’ next generation.
“I’d like to give the young kids a bit more of go and help people out with their skills,” Townsend said.
“It will be good to have a go in another competition and see what it’s like.”
Pomborneit, which just missed finals last season, has kept the bulk of its list in tact.
Nirranda-bound coach Steve Castle is the only omission from the Bulls’ division one side at this stage.
