The Giants won through to the decider on the back of a nailbiting win over Collingwood in the semi-finals and a solid victory against Wall’s former club Melbourne Vixens in the preliminary final.
But the Lightning – which finished the regular season equal on points with the Vixens but behind on percentage – proved too strong at Brisbane on Saturday night.
The Giants started well, building an 8-3 lead early, but the Lightning dragged the deficit back and put in a big second term to set up the 65-48 win.
